SENIOR TEAM BACKGROUNDS

Team Name: Hokowhitu FC 1st

The Hokowhitu Rangers are the premier men's side for Hokowhitu, due to the hard work of the coach, manager and team they have become one of the most sought after teams to play for in the Manawatu due to both their success on the pitch and the atmosphere of the team.

The Rangers have gone through a period of rapid rise in divisions leading to them playing the 2014 season in the Western Premiership, when in 2012 season there were in Men's Division 2.  The Meteoric rise in divisions is due to the hard work of the coach, manager and all the players, starting at grass roots and building a team where's everyone's first passion is football and everyone can call each other not only team mates but a true friend and a brother in football.

2012 saw the Rangers win the Men's div 2 without a single loss and also taking out the knockout competition as well

2013 was possibly the most successful season yet with the Rangers winning Men's division 1 with only a single loss as well as winning the division 1 knockout competition.

One of the most admirable things about this team is the true multicultural aspect to it; in 2013 the squad of 14 players included 10 different ethnic groups proving football is truly a global language.

Team Name: Hokowhitu Reserves

The Hokowhitu Flyers were formed in 2012 to accommodate the growth within the club and the clear separation between the elite players and the socially competitive.  2012 was a successful year for the team coming 2nd in the men's 3rd division, with the creation of Hokowhitu United in 2013 the Flyers went through a huge change in players, coaching and management. 2016 saw Flyers going through the season unbeaten with a record of played 16, won 14 and drew 2 to win division 2 and gain promotion to division 1.

Team Name: Hokowhitu 3rds

Hokowhitu United was formed in 2013 to be the feeder side to the Rangers and to bridge the gap between the Rangers as the premier competitive team in the club and the Flyers as the socially competitive team.  United had a strong first season and are looking to take the 2014 season by the horns with a new manager and coach to help lead them to the top of the second division and develop a lot of out new young talent.

Team Name: Hokowhitu Women's 1st

The passion of Hokowhitu players and partners has led to the broaching of a women's football team for the 2013 season, but due to lack of numbers a Hokowhitu women's team just wasn't a reality, At the end of 2013 season a strong push from one of the Hokowhitu men's players as well as unrelated push from some partners led to the committee throwing its full support behind the creation of a women's side to Hokowhitu FC, with a lot of work by some individuals this dream has become a reality with the Victory being our first side entered into the 2014 season.

We are all very excited to see where this leads and how we can grow women's football in the Manawatu.
